FAQs

Due to the continued risk to the SGNA community resulting from COVID-19, the SGNA Board of Directors has decided to cancel the in-person SGNA 47th Annual Course and host SGNA 47th Annual Course: A Virtual Experience, a live, virtual event in its place October 31-November 2, 2020.

Please continue to check this page in the coming weeks for new information as it is available.

What will SGNA 47th Annual Course: A Virtual Experience be like?

During the time that we would have met in Louisville, SGNA will offer a full line-up of sessions for virtual conference attendees. There will be keynotes, educational sessions, a virtual exhibit hall, vendor programs and networking. Attendees will be able to chat in real-time with other attendees, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors, and SGNA staff. A virtual exhibit hall will also be available so that attendees can learn about the latest innovations, products, services and resources. Games and prizes will be available to all attendees who participate in SGNA 47th Annual Course: A Virtual Experience.

What are the dates of SGNA 47th Annual Course: A Virtual Experience?

SGNA 47th Annual Course: A Virtual Experience will take place Saturday, October 31, Sunday, November 1 and Monday, November 2. Additional educational opportunities will be available to access at your leisure through the event platform for up to 30 days.

How many contact hours will be available through SGNA 47th Annual Course: A Virtual Experience?

As currently planned, SGNA 47th Annual Course: A Virtual Experience attendees can earn up to 32 contact hours.

What will happen with my original 47th Annual Course registration?

The great news is that SGNA will automatically transfer your registration to SGNA 47th Annual Course: A Virtual Experience.
Registration pricing for the virtual conference is as follows.

Member $250
Non-Member $375

The difference between what you paid and the cost of the virtual conference will be refunded to you automatically. Even if you cannot make the exact dates of the event, all education will be available to you for an additional 30 days after the course to participate in at your leisure.

Please note, the virtual event will not include any Pre-conference Workshops. If you registered for any workshops, your full registration fee for Pre-conference Workshops will be refunded. We anticipate all registrations will be issued by December 31, 2020.

Can I transfer my registration to someone else?

Yes, please email info@sgna.org with your registration confirmation number and the name/contact information of the person that is taking over your registration.

When will registration open for SGNA 47th Annual Course: A Virtual Experience?

We anticipate that online registration for SGNA 47th Annual Course: A Virtual Experience will open in September.

What is the new cancellation policy?

SGNA will not accept any cancelation requests for all new registrations (received after September 1, 2020) for SGNA 47th Annual Course: A Virtual Experience. Any cancellation requests for registrations made prior to September 1 2020, will be subject to a $100 administrative fee.

What if I already canceled my registration and I want to register for SGNA 47th Annual Course: A Virtual Experience?

We are happy to have you register for the virtual course when registration opens. If an administrative processing fee was applied to your refund, and you canceled your registration in April, you may be eligible to have that fee applied to your new registration. Please contact info@sgna.org for more information.

Will oral and poster presenters still be able to present at SGNA 47th Annual Course: A Virtual Experience?

SGNA will be sending specific information out to all presenters that agreed to participate in the fall in-person course. For additional information, please contact Madeline Stanke at mstanke@sgna.org

I expressed interest in moderating a session during the registration process. Will I moderate virtually?

As we continue to fine tune the virtual education format, there may be opportunities to moderate virtually. Should this be the case, SGNA will contact moderators directly about introducing a speaker or participating in a live-streaming Q&A session.

Will my Annual Course scholarship or registration fees received based on a 2020 award be transferrable to the virtual event?

For now: SGNA is working with all of our grant partners that generously provided funding for these scholarships and awards to ensure that we are able to transfer these awards to the virtual event. We will reach out to all scholarship and awardees once we have received confirmation.

Will exhibitors be refunded for booth space?

SGNA will honor the current sponsor and exhibitor contracts for the 47th Annual Course and transfer booth space and benefits accordingly to the SGNA 47th Annual Course: A Virtual Experience. The primary contact for your company will receive further information from your SGNA relationship manager. You can expect to receive an email communication with more information.

What if I already made travel reservations for the Annual Course?

If you made any travel arrangements for the in-person meeting this fall it will be your responsibility to ensure all hotel and flight reservations are canceled.

Will attendees and exhibitors be refunded for airline tickets?

SGNA is not responsible for reimbursement of non-refundable airfare. However, we understand that many airlines have suspended cancellation and similar fees due to the circumstances surrounding COVID-19. Please contact your airline or travel agency for additional details.

Will SGNA change the 48th Annual Course (2021) dates?

There are currently no plans to change the dates of the 48th Annual Course in 2021.

Please email info@sgna.org if you have additional questions.
