Gastrointestinal bleeding is a common diagnosis in surgical and endoscopic suites. This generic term refers to conditions resulting from a variety of diseases and disorders. In this one-hour continuing education activity, the speaker will explore various sources of GI bleeding encountered in the GI Suite. Participants will discuss current hemostatic treatment options, such as sclerotherapy, banding, thermal treatment, bipolar therapy and combination therapy. They will review indications and contraindications of emerging technologies for treatment of GI bleeding.

Upon completion of this presentation, participants will be able to:
- Review the current state of GI bleeding incidence and statistics
- Explain the mechanisms of action of current treatment options for GI bleeding
- Describe the advancements of endoscopic hemostasis encountered in the GI Suite
