During this 1-hour informative program, clinical educators will present information on the latest innovations in automation for flexible GI endoscope processing. Topics discussed will include use of a turbulent fluid flow (TFF) for enhanced efficiency and efficacy in sampling endoscopes for cleaning verification and microbial surveillance, as well as use of artificial intelligence for internal inspection of endoscope channels using a borescope. Implementation of these new automated processes improve quality control of endoscope processing designed to enhance patient safety.
- Review the challenges and risks associated with processing flexible endoscopes
- Compare current flush-brush-flush method to Turbulent Fluid Flow (TFF) for sampling endoscopes
- Introduce novel artificial intelligence for identifying endoscope internal damage and residual material
- Provide examples of verification methods for testing TFF samples
- Allow for learning through open discussion with questions and answers.
